John Sarrao is the program director for Office of Science programs at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He is a condensed matter physicist whose research focuses on the discovery of novel correlated electron systems, especially f-electron superconductors.

Prof. Thomas Schleid (schleid@iac.uni-stuttgart.de)

Thomas Schleid has a diploma in chemistry and a doctorate in natural sciences from the Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany. In 1985 and 1987 he spent research periods at the Argonne National Laboratory Chicago, Illinois, USA. After a post-doctoral research period from 1988 until 1994 at the Leibniz University Hannover, Germany,used for his habilitation, he became professor for inorganic chemistry at the Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg, Germany. Since 1996 he holds the chair for inorganic solid-state chemistry at the Universität Stuttgart, Germany.His research interests focus on the preparation as well as the structure and property determination of ionic rare-earth metal compounds with different anions.
