The 4th ERESJunior award will be presented at ICFE-8, which will be held in Udine (Italy) on August 26-31, 2012.

The prize is meant to distinguish a young investigator (under 35, i.e. born 1977 or later) for an innovative contribution to the science and/or technologyof f-elements. Previous winners were Professors Koen Binnemans (KU Leuven,Belgium, 2000), Zhiping Zhen (U. of Arizona, USA, 2003), and Daniel Jaque Garcia(U Autonoma Madrid, Spain,2006). The prize was not bestowed in 2009.

We are now seeking proposals for nominees who correspond to the following description:

“Theaward is given for an innovative contribution to the scienceand/or technologyof thef-elements. Contributions to other areas of science or technology should not be part ofthe decision. On the other hand, the potential of the candidate in the field of research and/or technology should be a major consideration in the decision” [regulations of the award, section 2].

The proposal should contain:

  • (i) a nominating letter from an individual or group of individuals highlighting the achievements of the candidate and the reasons of the nomination
  • (ii) supporting letters
  • (iii) a curriculum vitae with a short description of the research performed (1-2pages)
  • (iv) alist of publicationsand/or of anyrelevant items
