Serafin Bernal (serafin.bernal@uca.es)
University of Cadiz, Cadiz, Spain

Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Cádiz (Spain) since 1988, he has devoted his whole scientific career to the synthesis, textural, nano-structural and chemical characterization of rare earth oxide-based catalytic materials. In recent years, his main research activities have been focused on ceria- and ceria-zirconia-supported noble metal (Rh, Pd, Pt, Au) catalysts for TWC and hydrogen production applications. He has co-authored over 165 research papers and book chapters on these topics. He has also leaded more that 30 research projects and contracts funded by national and international (EU, USA) public agencies and industrial companies.
